What is a Bromance?

For those of you who have seen "The Hills" you might have seen LC's friend, Brody Jenner. Well now, on MTV, he has his own show..."Bromance". Apparently Brody is looking for a friend to replace his best friend Spencer, whom he lost on "The Hills". First and foremost i will admit im going to see how the show goes and what exactly it is about, however im not sure ill be an avid watcher. I guess i just am intrigued to know what exactly these boys have to do. Is it like Paris' new show? I hope not, i thought Brody was better than that.

Body Parts = Identity

I was watching an episode of "Scrubs" today, one that i had seen but nothing else was on. One of the doctors, Turk, admits to his best friend that he had surgery to remove a testicle. He also reveals that he feels like less of a man now that he only has "one ball". he also states that he was over compensating for losing his testical by being more confrontational and wresteling with J.D.

I found this interesting. Are we so attached to what is seen as female and male parts that without one we feel less of a presona. The same thing happend in the lifetime movie "Why I wore Red Lipsitck to my Mastectomy". the main character gets breast cancer and has to contimplate getting her breast removed. She goes though all the things that Turk went though. So while it isnt a one gender thing, why are we so attached to the idea of these body parts. while they help to define us, they are not all that we are and all that we represent.

Britney: For the Record

I have a confession, i LOVE Britney Spears. Not in a wierd i follow her around way, i just enjoy her music and her shows. I did not enjoy her movies though, she needs to leave that alone. And when this sunday came about i was really excited about the Britney:For the Record on MTv. It was very insightful. I actually felt bad for her, she seems really lonely and sad. I think this was a great experoance for people to see that she is a normal person, that she does normal stuff and while she is a celebrity, she needs her privacy too. Now a days the paperazzi is getting outta control. Car crashes, chases and just down right invasion of people. I think she has had a wonderful career in her 10 years and she is on her way back to the top. I know that i have the new CD, and while it has taken some time and repeated listening im starting to like it more and more. I guess just give people a chance, you never know thier story.
